Terms of service

The house rules.

Last updated: 26 April 2026

These terms govern your use of the Yami iOS app and the yamiapp.eu website (together, "Yami"). By creating an account or using Yami, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Yami.

1. Who you're agreeing with

Yami is operated by Adam Bergman Karlsson, a sole developer based in Sweden. References to "we", "us", or "Yami" mean that. Contact: support@yamiapp.eu.

2. Your license to use Yami

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Yami on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the App Store's Standard EULA.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. One human per account, please. If you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else, email us right away.

4. What you save in Yami stays yours

You own the recipes, photos, notes, and collections you save in Yami. To make the app work — show your library back to you, sync across your devices, share collections with people you've invited — you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process that content. We don't sell, license, or use your content for any other purpose.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Yami to:

  • Scrape, mass-import, or systematically extract content from other services beyond personal use
  • Re-publish or commercially redistribute paywalled or licensed recipes through shared collections
  • Harass other members of a shared collection or post content that's hateful, illegal, or sexually explicit
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass the app's security or paywall
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with them

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Recipes from third-party sources

When you import a recipe from a website, social platform, or photo, Yami extracts the publicly visible information (title, ingredients, steps, image) so you can read it later inside the app. We always credit the original source and link back to it. If you're a creator and want your recipe removed from a user's library or from import, write to support@yamiapp.eu and we'll work with you.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Yami Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Free trial: New subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial, which automatically converts to a paid subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Pricing: Prices are set per region by Apple and shown to you on the in-app paywall before you confirm purchase.
  • How to cancel: Open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Yami → Cancel. We don't process cancellations directly.
  • Refunds: All refunds are handled by Apple under their refund policy. Request via reportaproblem.apple.com.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time inside the app under Settings → Account. We can suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these terms or use Yami in a way that harms other users or the service. On termination, your account and content are deleted within 30 days; certain backups and audit logs may persist for up to 90 days.

9. Disclaimers

Yami is provided "as is" and "as available". We try hard to make the app reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, accurate recipe parsing from every source, or the correctness of nutrition or allergen information. Recipes are imported from third parties or uploaded by users — always check ingredients yourself if you have allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Swedish and EU law, Yami and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of profits, or substitute services. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law (including your statutory rights as a consumer).

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes that can't be resolved by writing to us are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden, except where consumer protection laws give you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects you, we'll notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of Yami after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Contact

Questions, complaints, or anything else — write to support@yamiapp.eu.
